Jobs For Leamington

By Ben Aulakh

Work has begun on a $5 million trade park in Leamington which it’s hoped will create around 30 jobs.

The Travis Perkins trade park at Queensway, Leamington Spa is expected to open later this year.

The park’s developers, the Deeley Group are building a new home for the Brunswick Job Club, which provides help and advice for local people looking for work.

The job clubs new home will provide space for a full time job advisor as well as other roles.

A Warwickm District Council spokesperson said, “It is always good news when employment is created, but this support will also indirectly help people find jobs in the local area.”

Deeley Group is also building a major scheme for Orbit Homes at Queensway, while an Aldi supermarket is being created on the next door site.

Pat Moroney of Deeley Grou, said, “The schemes at Queensway will create jobs both in their construction and long-term operation which is very positive.

“We have always been a company that has worked very closely with communities in which we operate and glad that the district council will use this support to help local people.”

As part of the project, a pedestrian and cycle path will be constructed linking Tachbrook Park Drive and Queensway.
